Robbe Janssens’ racing story started in 2013, where a spark ignited during a kids’ initiation at Inkart Puurs and quickly turned into a full-blown passion. After honing his skills at Karting Genk’s racing school and competing in club races, Robbe spent years climbing the ranks in indoor sprint and endurance karting — always pushing for the podium.
By 2021, he wasn’t just driving — he was already working trackside as a race engineer in the Lotus Cup Europe, gaining priceless experience and insight. That mix of hands-on learning, family support, and pure dedication laid the foundation for the standout driver he is today.

“Even before he could walk, Robbe was already on track – tucked into a buggy, wheels turning, and the sound of engines all around. It was only a matter of time.”

It all began with a kids’ initiation at Inkart Puurs and a few early laps at Karting Genk’s racing school. Robbe’s love for racing was immediate — even at this young age, he showed a natural feel for the track.

Robbe entered his first clubhouse race at Karting Genk. It was a small event, but a big moment — the first time he lined up on the grid and felt the thrill of real competition.

Over the next several years, Robbe honed his skills in indoor karting, taking part in both sprint and endurance races. With multiple podium finishes, these years built the foundation of consistency, race awareness, and sharp instincts.

Robbe took his first driving lessons in a Peugeot 206 GTI at Circuit Zolder, learning car control beyond karting. He also joined Toby Goodman’s team in the Lotus Cup Europe as a race engineer — the year Toby won the championship.

Robbe had his first track day behind the wheel of a real race car — a Lotus Elise Cup R belonging to Cai Cederholm. This experience sealed the deal: Robbe was ready to trade karting for the world of GT racing.

With his racing licenses secured, Robbe entered six Belcar Skylimit Sprint Cup races, earning two class podiums. But the real breakthrough came at Spa, where he won his Lotus Cup Europe debut — followed by three second-place finishes at Le Mans.

In his first full Lotus Cup Europe season, Robbe scored 8 wins, 3 second places, and just 1 DNF, becoming Production Class Champion and 2nd overall — the youngest champion in the series’ history. A dream season that made headlines.

Behind every great driver is a great team — and for Robbe, that team starts with his father, Guy Janssens. As a Lotus specialist and the heart of Bosch Car Service Janssens, Guy has been shaping Robbe’s racing journey from the start. The family garage, known for its passion for performance cars, has long been a place where Robbe not only learned the technical side of racing but also found the values of hard work and dedication.
Even while racing, Robbe remains hands-on in the shop, helping fine-tune setups and staying connected to the family legacy.
